The Department of Biomedical Science and Physiology at the University of Wolverhampton is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Science.

The Department of Biomedical Science and Physiology at the University of Wolverhampton is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Science.

You will have previous teaching or training experience that will enable you to contribute to teaching, placement learning, assessment, quality enhancement and pedagogic research within the Department. We welcome applications from an NHS Biomedical or Clinical Science setting or those from an active clinical research background, You will have experience in Blood Sciences, including Clinical Biochemistry, and desirably Haematology, and will be expected to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. You will be able to effectively deliver the key aspects of these disciplines through lectures, seminars, and practical classes. and be committed to providing an excellent student experience.

Preferably, you will be registered with the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) or be a member of another relevant professional body. Applicants should have a first degree in a related discipline and either a Master’s degree or a PhD, or be able to demonstrate significant professional practice experience. As Senior Lecturer, you must be willing to contribute to research across a range of university-wide research institutes and centres.

The Department has delivered a highly successful portfolio of IBMS-accredited courses covering a range of undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes for over 30 years making a significant local impact on health outcomes and providing access to education. The successful applicant will therefore have an enthusiasm for removing barriers to and widening participation in education.
