Pilot boat skipper

Our busy marine division gets involved in a multitude of different projects around the UK and Northern Europe, including surveys, offshore energy, towage and supporting marine civil engineering projects.

We continually assess and modernise our extensive fleet of vessels and ensure the highest levels of staff training in order to maintain our excellent record for safety, efficiency and quality.

We are now looking for an experienced skipper to work on board our pilot boat based in Portsmouth.

Role & Responsibilities:

· Skipper for Nelson 48/50 pilot Boat

· You will be operating our pilot launch from Portsmouth and will be involved in the safe transfer of pilots to/from ships in the Solent and Portsmouth approaches.

· Responsible for day-to-day maintenance of the vessel and management of deckhand.

Experience

· Previous pilot boat experience

Minimum qualification:

• A commercially endorsed Yacht Master which will include completion of the STCW short courses
• STCW short courses (not older than 5 years)
• Valid ENG1
• Excellent boat handling skills, fully conversant with ship mooring, equipment and associated rope work

Salary: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
