ENGIE are recruiting for a Data Scientist to be based in Leeds. This is a permanent full time time role working 37 hours per week. Working is flexible in relation to office attendance (1-2 days per week) and standard office hours (8:30am - 5pm Monday to Thursday, 8:30am – 4:30pm Friday) are expected. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design / build of a new suite of financial reports, in collaboration with engineering and product development teams, making sense of over 3 billion data points, and providing insight to energy supply and purchase contracts
  • Enhancing / automating data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems, including extending data with third party sources when needed
  • Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis, using automated anomaly detection systems
  • Manipulate, analyse and interpret complex data sets relating to the supply and purchase of energy
  • Present information using data visualisation techniques
  • Ad-hoc analysis
  • Continuous review and improvement of processes, focusing on system and automation.
  • Develop record management processes and policies
  • Work with wider business to ensure good stakeholder engagement and customer service as well as identifying issues, communicating them and enabling a resolution


Experience and skills:

  • Proven experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst
  • Experience in data analysis tools (e.g. Python)
  • Knowledge of VBA and SQL
  • Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI)

· Analytical mind and business acumen · Strong math skills (e.g. statistics, algebra)

  • Problem-solving aptitude
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Qualifications:

  • Degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, or
  • Specific related experience
