Within this position, you will be focusing on development and maintenance of the Key Control Indicator (KCI) activity. You will be supporting the Controls Framework & Indicator Manager to build and maintain a KCI Library for COO, governing on-going changes to KCIs, and then using analytical skills to look identify themes, patterns, and trends indicative of control issues.

The difference you’ll make.

  • Ensuring that KCIs are in place for all Key Controls within COO, with parameters / tolerance documented and agreed. On-going review to ensure KCIs remain appropriate.

  • Maintaining the KCI Library for COO and Important Business Services, ensuring alignment with the Operational Risk Framework and accepted Industry Standards.

  • Where required, calculation and reporting of specific KCIs owned by the Controls Office.

  • Monitoring control effectiveness through on-going review of KCI outcomes. Investigation of KCIs that are out of tolerance or with adverse trends; ensuring management actions are in place.

  • Undertaking quality checks over KCIs reported by Business Units to validate accuracy of KCI outcomes.

  • Ensuring that control effectiveness issues are identified and escalated on a timely basis.

What you’ll bring.

  • Previous experience of working within a risk and controls function and understanding of risk and control concepts.

  • Able to demonstrate analytical skills, with the ability to extract and analyse data concisely, summarising key messages.

It would also be nice for you to have.

  • Strong communication and influencing skills.

  • Advanced Excel skills to support analytical skillset.

  • Ability to Articulate complex issues and extract information into a format which is easy to understand.

  • Pro-active, self-starter, with good planning and organisation skills.

What else you need to know.

We are currently following a hybrid office/home-based work pattern at the present time, you will need to be able to attend the office in Milton Keynes or London when required to do so.
